DESCRIPTION:Bitcoin is the currency of the internet\, and potentially of th
 e world. Nostr is the communication protocol around which a new Bitcoin-na
 tive internet is emerging. Together\, the Bitcoin and Nostr communities ha
 ve demonstrated that content can be distributed with instant micropayments
 \, through tipping and the “gift economy.”\n\nFanfares explores the ne
 xt level\, enabling a move towards something that is more akin to ordinary
  commerce in the physical world. The basic proposition is simple: 'you pay
  for something\, then you get it'\n\nThe dominant internet business model 
 asks users to pay with their data. Platforms\, algorithms and advertisers 
 then gain enormous influence over what people see and how they behave. Sub
 scriptions are often presented as the alternative\, but they are largely a
  consequence of transaction friction. When every individual transaction re
 quires identity\, payment details and administrative overhead\, it becomes
  cheaper for merchants to bundle content and easier for users to enter int
 o an ongoing commitment.\n\nBitcoin Lightning changes that equation. It en
 ables instant\, low-cost payments without requiring identity. Nostr enable
 s content distribution without a central platform and without requiring us
 ers to identify themselves.\n\nFanfares combines these capabilities to cre
 ate a simple model of digital commerce: pay\, receive\, and have ownership
 . It can provide access to content only to those who have paid\, while als
 o creating incentives for people to discover\, recommend and promote valua
 ble content. Bitcoin Lightning payment splits allow revenue to be distribu
 ted automatically among the people who contributed to the creation\, distr
