We are building micro-lending on a Bitcoin standard: 0% interest capital, make repayment entirely voluntary, free from debt-based coercion or collection pressure and have funds stay in community pools to serve the next entrepreneur.
We'd like to present the existing success stories from our early pilot projects and explain the new path Geyser is taking in bringing access to capital to people globally through Bitcoin.
We are focusing Geyser on Circular Grants (no more fundraising or all-or-nothing). Circular Grants are ethical capital, 0% interest capital given to entrepreneurs in circular economies with no debt obligation.
We've been piloting the system and it seems to be working. We already have some really powerful case studies to share. We have 10 Circular Grants that are active right now, where 50% are being funded from the Bitcoin community via donations, and we are seeing voluntarily repayments happening in the pilots in Kenya. The repayments are made locally to a community pool that funds the next entrepreneur.
This has huge implications in terms of bringing access to capital to communities that need it most and building a new financial system on Bitcoin
